Program Emphasizes Compliance with Quality Gloves and Dielectric Testing
Philadelphia, PA – Recognizing the role testing plays in electrical safety compliance, Arbill introduced its Electrical Safety Protection Program⎯comprised of best-in-class Novax™ electrical insulating gloves and a full array of dielectric testing services. Each Novax glove is electrically tested and certified by the manufacturer prior to shipment, however OSHA regulations [1910.137&1910.268(f)] mandate periodic re-testing of rubber gloves as one year from date of purchase for new gloves, and every nine months thereafter. This nine-month timeframe also applies to re-issued gloves that have not been in use. Arbill’s dielectric testing services help customers stay compliant by making this required testing easy and readily available.
"Arbill is our customers’ one-stop shop for safety, and our Electrical Safety Protection Program is a prime example" according to Julie Copeland, President and CEO, Arbill. "We partnered with one of the largest and most esteemed dielectric testing labs in the U.S. so that our customer organizations can easily remain in compliance with OSHA requirements, without the worries of testing in-house or researching and arranging for third-party lab testing."
Novax Electrical Gloves are the preferred choice when working in conditions that impose an electrical hazard. This product has been produced and sold in Europe and Asia for many years and meets all U.S. and international standards. Manufactured in an ISO-certified facility, the natural rubber used in these gloves is specifically formulated to ensure high dielectric properties to protect users from electric shocks, which can cause burns, or other serious physical injury or death. In addition to gloves, Arbill offers goatskin leather protectors and protective storage bags, both of which are recommended by OSHA and the manufacturer. Also available at value pricing are kits that include the gloves, protectors, and storage bag. For more details and descriptions, click here.
Arbill’s partner test lab for Dielectric Testing Services adheres strictly to the ASTM F496-99 and F1236-96, which apply to in-service care and testing and visual inspection of insulated gloves. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for the complete testing and re-certification of these products as mandated by OSHA, including washing, electrical testing, and physical inspection. All rubber protective gloves tested by the lab undergo this rigorous sequence in order to ensure that your employees continue to use safe personal protective equipment. Arbill’s testing service addresses all of these requirements, with a maximum five-day turnaround time including:
- Check-in and quantity verification
- Cleaning and removal of old marks
- Visual inspection of inner and outer surface of gloves and sleeves
- Dielectric test at the rated proof test voltage for one minute
- Marking with date of test and “RETURN FOR TEST” date
