The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to identify all confined spaces in a facility and determine if those spaces meet the criteria of permit required confined spaces (PRCS). If a PRCS is identified, then the employer must follow the regulatory requirements, including developing policies and programs for entry, developing a permit program and requirements, conducting monitoring of the spaces, providing awareness to employees of the requirements, providing entry and rescue equipment for entry, training all entry and rescue employees and ensuring that the spaces are safe for entry.
Arbill EHS Specialists will conduct an assessment of your site, producing an inventory of all confined spaces and identifying all applicable regulatory requirements. Additionally, air monitoring in the applicable spaces may be conducted identify hazards and determine protective measures for entry. Arbill will provide report on control measures to maintain regulatory compliance and ensure worker safety when working in identified confined spaces.
This awareness training is designed to teach workers to understand permit required confined spaces requirements, to recognize and identify confined spaces and permit required confined spaces, and to understand the hazards and risks involved with working around confined spaces.

Initially / Refresher As Needed
This training provides participants with the fundamentals of confined space rescue operations, hazard assessment, risk management, as well as other tactical considerations. This training can be customized for your response team and covers ropes, knots, riggings, belaying, hauling, and extrication.
*Prerequisites include Confined Space Entry and CPR and First Aid. CPR and First Aid can be provided as part of Rescue course for up to 10 students per class. Number of participants, minimum booking hours and additional materials fees may apply.

Initially (If utilizing in-house rescue team) / Annual Exercise
Employees with permit-required confined space entry duties require training prior to assuming initial duties and after any operational changes occur. This training is designed to teach workers their responsibilities for safe confined space entry, how to recognize potential hazards and health effects, and the selection of proper PPE and monitoring equipment. Both classroom activities and confined space entry drills are conducted.
