During equipment maintenance, repair or other tasks, the control of hazardous energy is crucial to ensure employee safety. However, each machine or piece of equipment can be vastly different in the type of hazardous energy that is present and the proper way to isolate this energy. Arbill’s EHS Specialist will conduct an inventory of applicable equipment, identify hazardous energy sources, review shut-down and start-up procedures and company policies, and then develop machine-specific Lock out/Tag out procedures to isolate hazardous energy and protect your workers.
This classroom training focuses on electrical safety work practices and the control of potentially hazardous energy in accordance with NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace. Training includes an overview of the principles and hazards of electricity; engineering controls required operate safely and appropriate PPE for an energized environment.

This awareness course covers the requirements under NFPA 70E for personnel who may work near or interface with electrical equipment but are not qualified to be within the approach boundaries specified in the regulations. This class serves as a great overview for all employees about Arc Flash and general electrical safety.

Initially / Refresher Every 3 Years
This course is designed for specific employees, such as maintenance personnel, that will be working directly with and around electrical hazards and risks. Students will understand and demonstrate safe electrical work practices in and around arc flash high risk and protective boundary zones in accordance with NFPA 70E 2021 Electrical Safety in the Workplace and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.331-335 Electrical Safety Work Practices.

This training is provided to employees who use, maintain, or inspect energized equipment. The purpose of lock-out/tag-out procedures is to guide an authorized employee through a sequential process that renders a piece of equipment or process safely de-energized. The course covers the site- specific LO/TO program and provides an overview of the signage, locks, and policies to ensure the safe use of mechanical equipment.

This training is provided to employees who work in areas that contain energized equipment, but who do not work directly with the equipment. The awareness level course the site-specific LOTO program and provides an overview of the signage, locks, and policies to ensure the safe use of mechanical equipment.
